CarTeck Switch side hinged garage doors share many of the same great features as the classic CarTeck side hinged doors. There are just a few differences:
CarTeck Switch are available in Standard Sizes Only, 3 Designs and 3 Colours.
6 standard sizes which means you can take out an old up and over garage door and pop in a new CarTeck Switch in its place.
Sizes
Many garages in the UK have an up and over door in one of four standard sizes, which are typically fitted on to a 70mm timber frame.
These sizes are as follows:
- 2134mm x 1981mm
- 2134mm x 2134mm
- 2286mm x 1981mm
- 2286mm x 2134mm
New build garage openings are typically one of two standard sizes:
- 2254mm x 2240mm
- 2406mm x 2240mm
Replacing these doors with a CarTeck Switch insulated side hinged door is simple as they are made to replace the door and frame. Sizes are reduced by 20mm on the width and 10mm on the height allowing for fitting tolerance.
Available Styles and Colours
Available styles include a 50/50 Split only, with either Horizontal or Vertical Centre Rib panels in Classic White, Black, or Anthracite Smooth finish. Classic Vertical Rib with double glazed windows is also available in the same colours.
Features of CarTeck Switch Side Hinged Doors
- High Quality Hinges – Aluminium surface mounted hinges are easily adjusted. Three hinges are fitted to each leaf.
- Open-Out only – Switch side hinged doors are open-out only with Right hand leading (viewed from outside) but can be left hand leading at no extra cost.
- Aluminium Strip Threshold – the aluminium profile provides a low profile threshold. The bottom of the door leaf has a blade seal.
- Friction Door Stays – Each leaf is fitted with an easy-action friction stay to hold the door leaf open.
CarTeck Switch Doors are built with 40mm thick interlocking insulated panels. In addition to the circumferential weather strip around the door leaf, the door frame has a three sided weather strip for excellent draught reduction. Profiles are mitre jointed for a neat finish. Each leaf is fitted with an easy action friction stay to hold the door leaf open. Note - not designed for high wind applications. The aluminium profile provides a simple low profile threshold (without a weather strip). The bottom of the door leaf has a blade seal.
High grade stainless steel handles and lock covers are tough and attractive, whilst the latch and dead bolt combination provides dependable security. A convenient thumb turn operates the lock from the inside.
CarTeck doors are independently tested and certified to all current safety legislation and carry a CE/UKCA mark.
