Internal Face Fix

The internal face fix is one of the most popular fixing types that is used to maximise the opening drive-through width of the garage.  The guides are fixed to the inside face of the brick piers behind either side of the opening.

Reveal Fix

If there is restricted side room or if you want to maximise the internal length of the garage, reveal fixing for the guides is where the guides are fitted between the brick piers.

Half Reveal

This is a mixture of an internal face fix and a reveal fix, normally used where one side of the garage has a flush wall rather than a brick pier.

External Face Fix

If internal space is restricted but you still want to maximise the opening width and height, the popular external face fix installation where the guides are fitted on the outside face of the garage is a good way to achieve a clear drive-through width.

Head Fixing

Face Fix

The most popular type of head fixing where the roll fits above the structural opening width, usually from the underside of the lintel upwards towards the ceiling.

It is important to note that if you require a clear drive-through height when the roller door is open, you will need to add 90mm to the structural opening height (for the 77mm lath door) or 60mm to the structural opening height (for the 55mm lath door), in order to take account of the overhang of the bottom rail and rubber seal which sits in the top of the guides when the door is open.  This means that additional head room will be required over and above the standard mechanism sizes.

If there is restricted head room above the opening but you would still like to maximise the height, this space can still be utilised.  Where part of the mechanism drops down under the lintel, this would need to be covered using the 90° Front Fascia Panel to cover the mechanism which would be viewed from outside.

Reveal Fix

A reveal fix is where the mechanism is fixed to the underside of the lintel within the opening.  The 90° Front Fascia Panel will be required for this option.
